Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shocks.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Sub-steps:
    • Remove any clips or screws securing the engine cover.
    • Lift the engine cover off gently and set it aside.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers.
3. Access Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    • Identify the location of the ignition coils on the engine (typically on top of the engine near the spark plugs).
    • Remove any components blocking access, such as air intake ducting or wiring harnesses.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, possibly a ratchet extension.
4. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    • Disconnect the electrical connector from each ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
    • Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket.
    • Gently pull the ignition coils straight up to remove them from the spark plugs.
  • Tools Required: Socket set.
5. Install New Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the new ignition coil connectors to prevent corrosion.
    • Align the new ignition coils with the spark plugs and press them down firmly.
    • Secure the coils with the bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
  • Tools Required: Socket set.
6. Reassemble Engine Components
  • Sub-steps:
    • Reinstall any components removed to access the ignition coils.
    • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with clips or screws.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
