Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx screwdriver (T20)
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and turn off the engine.
  • Disconnect the battery if necessary for added safety.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
    2. Locate the two stops on the sides of the glove compartment and gently press them inward to allow the glove compartment to drop down further.
    3. Remove the screws at the top and bottom of the glove compartment using the Torx screwdriver.
    4. Disconnect the glove compartment damper (if equipped) by pulling it off.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  • Sub-steps:
    1. With the glove compartment fully lowered, locate the cabin air filter cover (usually a rectangular cover behind the glove compartment).
    2. Remove the cover by gently prying it off with a flathead screwdriver or by unscrewing it if it is secured with screws.
    3. Carefully pull out the old cabin air filter from its housing, noting the orientation for the new filter installation.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Take the new cabin air filter and insert it into the housing in the same orientation as the old filter (ensure the airflow direction is correct).
    2. Reattach the filter cover securely.
    3. Reinstall the glove compartment by reversing the removal steps: attach the damper, secure the screws, and push the stops back into place.
