Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before starting the repair.
2. Remove the Camshaft Sensor
  • Locate the camshaft sensor, typically found near the top of the engine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
  • Remove the mounting bolts using a socket set (usually 10mm).
  • Carefully pull the sensor out of its housing without damaging surrounding components.
3. Inspect and Clean
  • Inspect the sensor for signs of wear or damage.
  • If the sensor is dirty, clean it with electrical contact cleaner.
  • Inspect the mounting area for debris and clean it to ensure a proper seal.
4. Install the New Sensor
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new camshaft sensor (if applicable).
  • Insert the new sensor into the mounting hole and secure it with the mounting bolts (torque to manufacturer specifications, usually around 10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the battery terminals and ensure they are tightened securely.
  • Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
  • Observe the engine for any abnormalities and check if the check engine light has turned off.
