Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, screwdrivers, multimeter, vacuum gauge.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repairs.
2. Address Fault Codes
  • Retrieve error codes from the OBD-II scanner.
  • Clear the codes and take the vehicle for a test drive to see if any codes return.
3. Replace Air Filter
  • Remove the engine cover if necessary.
  • Locate the air filter housing, unclip it, and replace the air filter with a new one.
  • Reassemble the housing and cover.
4. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Disconnect the ignition coils by removing any retaining screws.
  • Pull out the ignition coils and use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plugs.
  • Install new spark plugs to the manufacturer's specifications (usually torque to about 22 Nm).
  • Reconnect the ignition coils.
5. Inspect and Repair Vacuum Hoses
  • Visually inspect all vacuum hoses for cracks or loose connections.
  • Replace any damaged hoses and ensure secure connections.
6. Clean Idle Air Control Valve/Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to clean the throttle body and the idle air control valve.
  • Reattach the duct and ensure all clamps are tight.
