Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues during strut replacement.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench
  • Loosen the lug nuts on the front or rear wheel where the strut is being replaced.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and securely place jack stands under the vehicle.
  • Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Remove Strut Assembly
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench
  • Locate the strut mounting bolts at the top and bottom of the strut assembly.
  • Use the socket set to remove the lower strut bolts from the wheel hub.
  • Access the upper strut mounts under the hood and remove the nuts securing the strut to the body.
  • Carefully pull out the strut assembly from the vehicle.
4. Install New Struts
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, new struts, strut mounting hardware
  • Position the new strut assembly into place.
  • Secure the top of the strut with the upper nuts and torque them to manufacturer specifications.
  • Attach the lower strut to the wheel hub and torque the bolts to the recommended specifications.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and torque the lug nuts to specifications.
  • Reconnect the battery and perform a test drive to ensure proper installation and function.
