Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, manifold gauge set, basic hand tools (screwdrivers, socket set).

2. Recharge Refrigerant
  1. Locate the AC service ports:
    • Find the low-pressure service port, usually located on the larger diameter aluminum tubing between the evaporator and the compressor.
  2. Connect the manifold gauge set:
    • Attach the blue (low-pressure) hose to the low-pressure service port.
    • Make sure the red (high-pressure) hose is not connected to avoid overcharging.
  3. Check refrigerant pressure:
    • Start the engine and turn the AC to the maximum setting.
    • Read the pressure gauges. If the low-side pressure is below 25 psi, refrigerant is needed.
  4. Add refrigerant:
    • If low, attach the refrigerant can to the manifold gauge set.
