Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels using a socket set.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors
  • Inspect Rotors:
    • Use a dial indicator to measure rotor runout.
    • If warping is found (greater than 0.002 inches), proceed to replace.
  • Remove Old Rotors:
    • Remove the caliper by unscrewing the caliper bolts and hanging it using a bungee cord.
    • Remove the rotor by unscrewing any retaining screws and sliding it off the hub.
  • Install New Rotors:
    • Clean the new rotors with brake cleaner to remove any protective coating.
    • Install the new rotors, securing them with retaining screws.
4. Replace Brake Pads
  • Remove Old Pads:
    • Remove the caliper bracket bolts and slide the caliper off.
    • Remove the old brake pads from the bracket.
  • Install New Pads:
    • Apply brake grease to the backing of new pads.
    • Insert new pads into the caliper bracket.
  • Reassemble Caliper:
    • Compress the caliper piston using a brake tool or C-clamp.
    • Reinstall the caliper over the new pads and secure it with bolts.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall wheels and lower the vehicle.
  • Tighten lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications using a torque wrench.
  • Test drive the vehicle to ensure the brakes function correctly without shaking.
