Solution
1. Preparation
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Gather necessary tools and ensure safety equipment is available.
2. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  • Tools Required: Fluid pump, container for old fluid.
  • If the fluid is low or contaminated, remove the power steering reservoir cap.
  • Use a fluid pump to extract old fluid and replace it with the manufacturer-recommended fluid.
3. Check and Replace CV Joints
  • Tools Required: Socket set, pry bar.
  • Lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Inspect the CV joints for any tears in the boots. If damaged, replace the CV axle.
    • Remove the wheel, then remove the axle nut and disconnect the CV joint from the wheel hub.
    • Slide the axle out of the transmission and install the new one.
4. Replace Wheel Bearings
  • Tools Required: Bearing puller, torque wrench.
  • Remove the wheel and brake caliper.
  • Use a bearing puller to extract the old wheel bearing from the hub.
  • Install the new bearing and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
5. Inspect and Replace Suspension Components
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, jack stands.
  • Check control arms and bushings for deterioration.
  • If necessary, remove and replace damaged components. Ensure to torque all bolts to the specified values.
6. Test Steering Rack
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench.
  • Inspect the steering rack for leaks. If damaged, replace the entire steering rack assembly.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and torque to specifications.
