Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and ensure the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

Tools Required:

  • OBD-II scanner
  • Mechanical oil pressure gauge
  • Socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Oil filter wrench
  • Oil catch pan
2. Check and Top Up Engine Oil
  • Remove the oil filler cap.
  • If the oil level is low, add the recommended oil type (SAE 5W-30 or equivalent) until the proper level is reached.
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Locate the oil filter using the vehicle service manual.
  • Position an oil catch pan under the filter to catch any spillage.
  • Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
  • Apply a small amount of new engine oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter.
  • Install the new oil filter by hand, then tighten it according to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Inspect and Replace Oil Pump (if necessary)
  • If oil pressure is still low, remove the oil pan by loosening the bolts with a socket set.
  • Inspect the oil pump for wear or damage.
  • If defective, remove the oil pump and install a new one, ensuring it is properly aligned and secured.
5. Reassemble and Refill Engine Oil
  • Reattach the oil pan with the appropriate torque settings as per the vehicle specifications.
  • Refill the engine with the correct amount of new engine oil.
  • Reconnect the battery.
