Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, flat-head screwdriver, and a new key fob battery if necessary.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety while working on electronic components.
2. Battery Replacement (if necessary)
  • Open the new key fob using a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry apart the casing.
  • Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring correct polarity is followed.
  • Reassemble the key fob casing securely.
3. Key Fob Programming
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Insert the existing functional key fob into the ignition and turn it to the 'On' position without starting the engine.
  • Within 30 seconds, press and hold the 'Unlock' button on the existing key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  • While still holding the 'Unlock' button, press the 'Lock' button three times and release both buttons.
  • Turn the ignition off and then remove the key fob.
  • Test the new key fob to check if it has been successfully programmed.
4. Inspect and Repair Keyless Entry System
  • If the new key fob is still not recognized, inspect the keyless entry antenna located at the rearview mirror for any damage.
  • Check wiring connections to ensure they are secure and not corroded.
  • If any issues are found, repair or replace damaged components.
