Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, jack and jack stands, fluid catch pan, torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and securely lift it with jack stands.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues while working.
2. Inspect Transmission Fluid
  • Remove the transmission dipstick (if applicable).
  • Check the fluid level; add fluid as necessary using the recommended type (usually ATF).
  • If the fluid is contaminated, proceed to the fluid replacement step.
3. Replace Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Fluid pump, appropriate transmission fluid.
  • Locate the transmission drain plug and remove it to drain the old fluid into a catch pan.
  • Replace the drain plug with a new washer and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Refill the transmission with new fluid using a fluid pump through the dipstick tube or designated fill port.
  • Ensure the fluid level is correct after filling.
4. Inspect and Replace Mounts
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, pry bar.
  • Inspect motor and transmission mounts visually; replace if cracked or damaged.
  • To replace, remove the bolts securing the mounts to the chassis and engine/transmission.
  • Install new mounts and torque bolts to specification.
5. Inspect Driveshaft and U-Joints
  • Tools Required: Socket set, pry bar.
  • Check for excessive play in the driveshaft and U-joints by wiggling them by hand.
  • If damaged, remove the driveshaft by unbolting it from the transmission and rear differential.
  • Replace any faulty U-joints and reinstall the driveshaft.
