Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required.
  • Disconnect the battery before starting work on electrical systems to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool before working on it.
2. Scan and Analyze Codes
  • Use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve error codes.
  • Document the codes and research potential causes based on the codes retrieved.
3. Replace Faulty Components

a. Engine Air Filter

  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver (if applicable)
  • Remove any clips or screws securing the air filter housing.
  • Take out the old air filter and replace it with a new one.
  • Reassemble the air filter housing and secure it.

b. Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils

  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench
  • Remove the ignition coil cover (if applicable) by unscrewing it.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
  • Remove the ignition coils from the spark plugs.
  • Unscrew and remove the old spark plugs using a spark plug socket.
  • Install new spark plugs, ensuring to torque them to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 22 lb-ft).
  • Reinstall the ignition coils and reconnect the electrical connectors.

c. Fuel Injectors

  • Tools Required: Fuel line disconnect tool, ratchet and socket set
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines carefully using the fuel line disconnect tool.
  • Remove the injector clips and pull out the fuel injectors.
  • Clean or replace the injectors as necessary, then reinstall them.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and fuse.
4. Throttle Body Service
  • Tools Required: Socket set, throttle body cleaner
  • Disconnect the air intake duct from the throttle body.
  • Remove the throttle body by unscrewing the bolts.
  • Clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth.
  • Reinstall the throttle body and reconnect the intake duct.
