Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, and safety gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine turned off and keys removed.
2. Address the Underlying Issue
  • If battery or alternator issues are identified:
    • Battery Replacement:
      1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal first to avoid short circuits.
      2. Remove the positive (+) terminal.
      3. Unbolt and remove the old battery from the tray.
      4. Place the new battery in the tray and secure it.
      5. Connect the positive (+) terminal first, followed by the negative (-) terminal.
    • Alternator Replacement:
      1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
      2. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner.
      3. Disconnect electrical connectors from the alternator.
      4. Unbolt the alternator from its bracket and remove it.
      5. Install the new alternator, reconnect electrical connectors, and reattach the serpentine belt.
3. Reset the Battery Light
  1. Reconnect the negative (-) battery terminal if it was disconnected.
  2. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes to check if the battery light remains illuminated.
  3. If the light persists, use the OBD-II scanner to clear any error codes that may have triggered the warning light.
