Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure with jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels for better access if necessary.
2. Remove the Old Tie Rod Ends
  1. Loosen the Tie Rod Nut:

    • Use a socket wrench to loosen the nut on the tie rod end without removing it completely.
    • Tool Required: Socket set.
  2. Remove the Tie Rod End:

    • Use a tie rod end puller or a hammer to gently tap the side of the steering knuckle to dislodge the tie rod end.
    • Note: Be cautious to avoid damaging the steering knuckle.
  3. Unscrew the Tie Rod End:

    • Once detached, unscrew the tie rod end from the inner tie rod by turning it counterclockwise.
    • Tool Required: Adjustable wrench.
3. Install the New Tie Rod Ends
  1. Thread the New Tie Rod End:

    • Screw the new tie rod end onto the inner tie rod by turning it clockwise until snug.
    • Torque specification: 35-40 Nm (25-30 lb-ft).
  2. Reconnect to the Steering Knuckle:

    • Place the tie rod end into the steering knuckle and install the nut.
    • Torque specification: 30-35 Nm (22-26 lb-ft).
  3. Reinstall the Wheel:

    • Place the wheel back onto the hub and secure it with the lug nuts.
    • Torque specification: 120 Nm (88 lb-ft).
4. Final Checks
  • Ensure all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground.
