  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Remove the Steering Rack
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
    2. Remove the front wheels for easier access to the steering components.
    3. Disconnect the steering column from the rack by removing the universal joint bolt.

    5. Remove the bolts securing the steering rack to the subframe.
    6. Carefully pull the steering rack out from the vehicle.
3. Inspect the Steering Rack
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Check for any signs of damage, such as bent components or leaks.
    2. Move the rack manually to check for smoothness and resistance.
    3. Inspect the seals for wear or deterioration.
4. Install the New Steering Rack
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Position the new steering rack into place and secure it to the subframe with the mounting bolts (torque to manufacturer specifications).
    2. Reattach the tie rod ends to the steering knuckle and tighten securely.
    3. Reconnect the steering column to the rack.
    4. Reinstall the front wheels.
