Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery before starting any work on the vehicle.
2. Inspect and Replace Fuel Cap
  1. Remove the fuel cap and inspect for cracks or a worn gasket.
  2. If damaged, replace with an OEM or quality aftermarket fuel cap.
  3. Reinstall the new fuel cap and ensure it clicks securely.
3. Repair or Replace EVAP Hoses
  1. Locate and remove damaged EVAP hoses by loosening any clamps using pliers.
  2. Replace with new hoses of the same diameter and length, ensuring a snug fit.
  3. Reattach any clamps securely to prevent leaks.
4. Replace Charcoal Canister (if necessary)
  1. Disconnect electrical connectors from the charcoal canister.
  2. Remove mounting bolts using a socket set.
  3. Detach the canister from the EVAP system and replace it with a new one.
  4. Reinstall and reconnect all components.
5. Test and Reconnect Battery
  1. Reconnect the battery terminals.
  2. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
  3. Use an OBD-II scanner to clear the P0455 code and any other stored codes.
