Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Safety: Wear safety goggles and gloves.
2. Inspect and Replace the Brake Booster
  • Step 1: Remove Engine Covers

    • Use a socket set to remove any engine cover that obstructs access to the brake booster.
  • Step 2: Disconnect Brake Lines

    • Use a brake line wrench to carefully disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder. Keep a container to catch any brake fluid.
  • Step 3: Remove the Master Cylinder

    • Unscrew the bolts securing the master cylinder to the brake booster using a socket. Gently pull the master cylinder away from the booster.
  • Step 4: Disconnect the Brake Booster

    • Remove the nuts securing the brake booster to the firewall using a socket set.
    • Disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster and remove the booster from the vehicle.
  • Step 5: Install the New Brake Booster

    • Position the new brake booster in place and secure it with the nuts to the firewall.
    • Reconnect the vacuum line ensuring a tight fit.
3. Reinstall Master Cylinder
  • Align the master cylinder with the brake booster and secure it with the bolts.
  • Reconnect the brake lines to the master cylinder, ensuring they are tight to prevent leaks.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Fill the master cylinder with fresh brake fluid.
  • Bleed the brake system to remove any air by having an assistant press the brake pedal while you open and close the bleeder valves on each brake caliper sequentially.
5. Final Checks
  • Check for any leaks around the brake lines and connections.
  • Reinstall engine covers removed during the process.
