Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, brake fluid, cleaning cloths.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems, and allow the vehicle to cool before inspecting brake components.
2. ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement
  1. Lift the Vehicle: Use a hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  2. Remove the Wheel: Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
  3. Locate the Sensor: Find the ABS wheel speed sensor mounted near the brake rotor.
  4. Disconnect the Sensor: Unplug the electrical connector from the ABS sensor.
  5. Remove the Sensor: Unscrew the sensor using the appropriate socket. If needed, gently wiggle the sensor to loosen it.
  6. Install New Sensor: Insert the new ABS speed sensor into the mounting hole and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
  7. Reconnect the Sensor: Plug the electrical connector back into the sensor.
3. ABS Module Inspection and Repair
  1. Locate the ABS Module: Access the ABS module, typically found near the master cylinder.
  2. Inspect Connections: Check all electrical connections to the ABS module for corrosion or looseness.
  3. Clean Contacts: If corrosion is found, clean the connectors with an electrical contact cleaner and reconnect them.
  4. Test Module: Connect the battery and use an OBD-II scanner to clear any fault codes and see if the ABS light remains off.
