Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather Tools: Socket set, jack and jack stands, lug wrench, brake cleaner, torque wrench, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Safety: Ensure vehicle is on a level surface, set parking brake, and wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench.
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and place it securely on jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel to access the brake components.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads
  • Inspect Pads: Check brake pads for thickness; replace if less than 3mm.
  • Remove Old Pads: Unbolt the caliper using a socket set, carefully slide it off the rotor.
  • Replace Pads: Remove old pads, clean the caliper bracket, and install new pads.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors (if needed)
  • Check Rotors: Inspect for grooves or scoring; replace if necessary.
  • Remove Rotors: Unbolt the rotor from the hub using a socket set.
  • Install New Rotors: Place new rotor onto the hub and secure it with bolts to manufacturer's torque specifications.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach Caliper: Position the caliper over the new pads and secure it with bolts.
  • Reinstall Wheel: Place the wheel back on and hand-tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower Vehicle: Remove jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Tighten Lug Nuts: Fully tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to ensure even pressure.
