Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on which wheel bearing is being serviced.
  • Secure the vehicle on jack stands for safety.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Using a lug wrench, loosen and remove the lug nuts.
  • Take off the wheel and set it aside.
4. Remove the Brake Components
  • Remove the brake caliper by unbolting it from its bracket. Support it with a bungee cord to avoid stress on the brake line.
  • Remove the brake rotor by unscrewing any retaining screws or pulling it off if it is stuck.
5. Remove the Wheel Bearing
  • Remove any dust caps or retaining clips.
  • Unbolt the wheel bearing hub assembly from the steering knuckle. Note the torque specifications for reinstallation.
  • Carefully pull out the wheel bearing using a bearing puller.
6. Install New Wheel Bearing
  • Clean the hub area and ensure it is free of debris.
  • Install the new wheel bearing into the hub, ensuring it is aligned correctly.
  • Reattach the wheel bearing assembly to the steering knuckle and tighten bolts to specified torque.
7. Reassemble Brake Components and Wheel
  • Reinstall the brake rotor and caliper.
  • Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and then use a torque wrench to tighten lug nuts to manufacturer specifications.
8. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Check the brake fluid level and top off if necessary.
