Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  • Disconnect electrical connectors from each fuel injector.
  • Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts using a socket set and gently pull the fuel rail away from the intake manifold.
  • Carefully extract the fuel injectors from the fuel rail, noting the orientation for reinstallation.
3. Inspect and Clean
  • Inspect the removed fuel injectors for clogs or carbon buildup. Clean with a suitable injector cleaner if necessary.
  • Use a soft brush to clean the injector ports in the intake manifold.
4. Install New or Reconditioned Injectors
  • Lubricate the O-rings of the new injectors with clean engine oil to ensure a proper seal.
  • Insert the new injectors into the fuel rail, ensuring they seat correctly.
  • Reattach the fuel rail to the intake manifold and secure it with the retaining bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
5. Reconnect and Test
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors.
  • Reinstall the engine cover if applicable.
  • Reinstall the fuel pump fuse and reconnect the battery.
  • Turn the ignition key to the "on" position without starting the engine to pressurize the fuel system, then check for leaks around the injectors.
