Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: socket set, torque wrench, transmission fluid, new transmission filter (if applicable), new seals or gaskets.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Remove Transmission Pan
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan to catch the fluid.
  • Using a socket set, remove the bolts securing the transmission pan to the transmission.
  • Carefully lower the pan, allowing any remaining fluid to drain into the drain pan.
  • Clean the mating surface of the transmission with a suitable solvent.
3. Inspect and Replace Seals
  • Inspect the old gasket or seal for wear or damage.
  • Remove the old gasket and clean the sealing surface thoroughly.
  • Install a new gasket or seal as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Torque the transmission pan bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque value.
4. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Reinstall the transmission pan and secure it with bolts.
  • Using a funnel, refill the transmission with the appropriate type of fluid through the dipstick tube (if applicable).
  • Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature, then check the fluid level and add as necessary.
