Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, flathead screwdriver, fuel line disconnect tool, O-ring lubricant.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before starting repairs. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Using a socket set, remove the screws securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Fuel Lines
  • Locate the fuel injectors on the fuel rail.
  • Use a fuel line disconnect tool to carefully detach the fuel lines from the rail.
  • Have a rag handy to catch any residual fuel.
4. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail using a socket set.
  • Carefully pull the fuel rail away from the intake manifold, taking the injectors with it.
5. Replace Fuel Injectors
  • For each injector, gently pull it out from the fuel rail.
  • Lightly lubricate the O-rings of the new injectors with O-ring lubricant.
  • Install the new injectors into the fuel rail, ensuring they seat properly.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Align the fuel rail with the intake manifold and press it back in place.
  • Secure the fuel rail with the bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically 10-15 Nm).
7. Reconnect Fuel Lines
  • Carefully reattach the fuel lines to the fuel rail, ensuring a secure fit.
8. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the screws removed earlier.
9. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery and check for any fuel leaks before starting the engine.
