Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off and cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
2. Check and Top Up Engine Oil
  • Tools Required: Engine oil, funnel, dipstick.
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
  • Reinsert the dipstick, then remove it again to check the oil level.
  • If low, add the recommended type of engine oil until it reaches the proper level.
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set, oil catch pan, new oil filter.
  • Place the oil catch pan under the oil filter.
  • Use the oil filter wrench to unscrew the old oil filter.
  • Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new oil filter with a bit of new oil.
  • Install the new oil filter and tighten it according to manufacturer specifications.
4. Change Engine Oil
  • Tools Required: Socket set, oil catch pan, new engine oil.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench and allow the old oil to drain completely into the pan.
  • Replace the oil drain plug and tighten to the specified torque.
  • Refill the engine with the appropriate amount of new oil through the oil filler cap.
5. Test Oil Pressure Sending Unit
  • Tools Required: Multimeter.
  • Locate the oil pressure sending unit.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and test the unit's resistance with a multimeter.
  • If the sending unit is faulty, replace it with a new one.
6. Reconnect Battery and Reset Oil Light
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Use the vehicle's onboard computer to reset the oil light, if necessary.
