Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts, and ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Air Filter
  • Remove the air intake cover.
  • Take out the air filter and inspect for dirt or damage.
  • Replace with a new air filter if necessary.
  • Reassemble the air intake cover securely.
3. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if necessary)
  • Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine, and note the pressure reading.
  • If the reading is below specifications, replace the fuel pump:
    • Remove the rear seat (if applicable) to access the fuel pump.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines.
    • Unbolt and remove the fuel pump assembly.
    • Install the new fuel pump and reassemble in reverse order.
4. Inspect and Replace Ignition Components
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  • Check spark plugs for wear, carbon buildup, or damage; replace if necessary.
  • Inspect ignition coils for cracks or malfunctions; replace any faulty coils.
  • Reinstall engine cover and reconnect the battery.
5. Test Throttle Position Sensor
  • Disconnect the TPS electrical connector.
  • Use a multimeter to measure the voltage output while moving the throttle plate by hand.
  • If readings are out of specification, replace the throttle position sensor.
