Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and park the vehicle on a level surface.
  • Ensure the vehicle is securely lifted using jack stands.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Wheel Speed Sensor
  1. Remove Wheel:

    • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the front left wheel.
  2. Access Wheel Speed Sensor:

    • Locate the wheel speed sensor mounted on the steering knuckle.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the tab and pulling it apart.
  3. Remove Old Sensor:

    • Use the appropriate socket to remove the sensor bolt and carefully pull the sensor out of its housing.
  4. Install New Sensor:

    • Lubricate the O-ring of the new wheel speed sensor with a small amount of clean engine oil.
    • Insert the new sensor into the mounting hole and secure it with the bolt to the specified torque (usually around 10 Nm).
  5. Reconnect Electrical Connector:

    • Plug the electrical connector back into the sensor until it clicks into place.
3. Reassemble and Test
  1. Reinstall Wheel:

    • Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  2. Lower Vehicle:

    • Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground and torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically 120 Nm).
  3. Reconnect Battery:

    • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  4. Clear Codes:

    • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear any fault codes and perform a test drive to ensure the code does not return.
