Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Wear protective gloves and goggles.
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Lines
  • Tools Required: Wrenches, brake line flaring tool, brake cleaner, replacement brake line.
  • Locate the leaking brake line or hose.
  • Disconnect the brake line using the appropriate wrench.
  • Use a brake line flaring tool to create new ends if necessary.
  • Install the new or repaired brake line and tighten securely to manufacturer specifications.
3. Replace Brake Caliper
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, brake caliper wrench.
  • Remove the wheel to access the brake caliper.
  • Disconnect the brake line from the caliper with a wrench.
  • Remove the caliper mounting bolts and take out the caliper.
  • Install the new caliper, ensuring the seals are properly seated.
  • Reconnect the brake line and tighten to specifications.
4. Replace Master Cylinder
  • Tools Required: Socket set, brake line wrench, turkey baster (for fluid removal).
  • Remove the brake fluid from the reservoir using a turkey baster.
  • Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder carefully.
  • Remove the master cylinder mounting bolts and take out the old master cylinder.
  • Install the new master cylinder, connect the brake lines, and tighten them properly.
5. Bleed the Brakes
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit or clear tubing, brake fluid.
  • Start at the farthest wheel from the master cylinder and bleed each brake until fluid runs clear.
  • Keep an eye on the fluid level in the reservoir to avoid introducing air into the system.
