Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Battery Replacement (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, multimeter
  • Remove the negative terminal first, then remove the positive terminal from the battery.
  • Unscrew the battery hold-down bracket and lift the battery out.
  • Install the new battery in reverse order: place it in the tray, secure the hold-down bracket, connect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
  • Ensure connections are tight and free of corrosion.
3. Starter Motor Inspection/Replacement
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, screwdriver set
  • If the starter motor was found faulty, remove the battery as previously described.
  • Disconnect the starter motor wiring harness and remove the mounting bolts.
  • Carefully pull the starter motor out from its housing.
  • Install the new starter motor by reversing the removal steps, ensuring all connections are secure.
  • Torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 15-25 Nm).
4. Ignition Switch Inspection/Replacement (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver set, multimeter
  • Remove the steering column cover to access the ignition switch.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the ignition switch.
  • Test the ignition switch output with a multimeter; replace if faulty.
  • To replace, unscrew the ignition switch from its mount, and install the new switch in reverse order.
