Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
2. Check and Replace Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Transmission fluid pump, fluid catch pan, funnel.
  • Remove the transmission drain plug and allow old fluid to drain into the catch pan.
  • Replace the drain plug and refill the transmission with the manufacturer-recommended fluid.
  • Use the fluid pump to add fluid through the fill tube until the correct level is achieved according to the dipstick markings.
3. Inspect and Replace Transmission Filter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers.
  • Remove the transmission pan by unscrewing all bolts and gently prying it off.
  • Take out the old transmission filter and replace it with a new one.
  • Clean the transmission pan and replace the gasket before reattaching it.
4. Test and Reprogram Transmission Control Module (if applicable)
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to reprogram the TCM if a software update is available.
  • Clear any error codes and perform a relearning procedure for the transmission.
