Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, replacement key fob battery (typically CR2032), and possibly a key fob reprogramming tool.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob
    • Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing without damaging it.
  2. Remove the Old Battery
    • Take out the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  3. Install New Battery
    • Insert the new battery with the correct polarity (positive side facing up).
  4. Close the Key Fob
    • Snap the two halves of the key fob back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter the Vehicle
    • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed and the ignition off.
  2. Insert the Key into the Ignition
    • Turn the key to the 'On' position without starting the engine.
  3. Press the Lock Button
    • Press the lock button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  4. Turn the Key Off
    • Turn the key back to the 'Off' position and remove it.
  5. Test the Key Fob
    • Attempt to unlock the doors using the key fob.
