Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, new CR2032 battery, multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery from the key fob.
  3. Use the multimeter to check the voltage of the old battery; a reading below 3 volts indicates it needs replacing.
  4. Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  5. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  1. Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed and the key fob ready.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition without starting the engine.
  3. Turn the key to the "On" position and then back to "Off" five times within ten seconds.
  4. After the fifth turn, leave the key in the "On" position.
  5. Press any button on the key fob to synchronize it with the vehicle.
  6. Turn the ignition back to the "Off" position and remove the key fob.
