Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Loosen the lug nuts while the vehicle is still on the ground.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors
  • Inspect for Warping:
    • Use a dial indicator to measure rotor runout. If it exceeds manufacturer specs, replace the rotors.
  • Remove the Brake Caliper:
    • Unbolt the caliper using a socket set.
    • Support the caliper with a bungee cord to avoid stress on the brake line.
  • Remove the Rotor:
    • Remove any retaining screws or clips.
    • Slide the rotor off the hub.
  • Install New Rotor:
    • Clean the hub surface and install the new rotor. Torque any retaining screws to manufacturer specifications.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads
  • Remove Old Brake Pads:
    • Remove the caliper bracket if necessary and take out the old pads.
  • Install New Brake Pads:
    • Apply brake grease to the back of the pads and install them into the caliper bracket.
    • Reattach the caliper over the new pads and bolt it back into place.
5. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
6. Test the Brakes
  • Before driving, pump the brake pedal to ensure proper engagement.
  • Conduct a short test drive to confirm the shaking issue has been resolved.
