Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Drain the Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, drain pan
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket set.
  • Carefully lower the pan and allow the fluid to drain completely into the pan.
3. Remove the Old Transmission Filter
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and socket for the filter bolts
  • Locate the transmission filter mounted on the transmission body.
  • Remove the bolts securing the filter using a ratchet and socket.
  • Carefully pull the old filter away from the transmission.
4. Install the New Transmission Filter
  • Tools Required: New transmission filter, gasket or sealant
  • Ensure the sealing surface on the transmission is clean.
  • Install the new filter in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Tighten the filter bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
5. Reinstall the Transmission Pan
  • Tools Required: New gasket or RTV sealant, torque wrench
  • Place a new gasket or apply RTV sealant on the transmission pan.
  • Position the transmission pan back onto the transmission.
  • Tighten the transmission pan bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque in a crisscross pattern to ensure even sealing.
6. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Funnel, new transmission fluid (as specified)
  • Remove the transmission dipstick and insert a funnel into the tube.
  • Pour the recommended transmission fluid into the funnel until the appropriate level is reached.
  • Start the engine and cycle through the gears to circulate the fluid.
7. Check for Leaks
  • With the engine running, check for any fluid leaks around the transmission pan and filter.
  • If no leaks are found, proceed to the next step.
