Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials required for the job.
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Fuel pressure gauge
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Multimeter
    • Screwdrivers
    • Pliers
    • Shop towels
  • Parts Required:
    • New fuel injectors
    • Fuel injector O-rings
    • Fuel rail gasket (if applicable)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before starting any electrical work.
    • Relieve fuel system pressure before disconnecting fuel lines to avoid spills.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the screws or bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Fuel Lines
  • Relieve fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  • Use a fuel pressure gauge to confirm that pressure is relieved.
  • Carefully disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail, using pliers if necessary to release the clips.
4. Remove Electrical Connectors
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each fuel injector by pressing the release tab and pulling them off gently.
5. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold using a socket wrench.
  • Gently pull the fuel rail away from the intake manifold, bringing the injectors with it.
6. Replace Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the old injectors from the fuel rail by pulling them straight out.
  • Lubricate the new O-rings with clean engine oil and insert them into the fuel rail.
  • Ensure they are seated properly.
7. Reassemble Fuel Rail and Reconnect
  • Align the fuel rail with the intake manifold and press it back into place.
  • Secure the fuel rail with bolts and torque them to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 10-15 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each injector.
8. Reconnect Fuel Lines and Test
  • Reattach the fuel lines to the fuel rail and secure them with the clips.
  • Reinstall the engine cover and reconnect the battery.
  • Replace the fuel pump fuse and start the engine, checking for leaks.
