Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack and jack stands, wheel chocks, socket set, torque wrench, pry bar, suspension tool kit.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Use wheel chocks to prevent movement and lift the rear of the vehicle using a jack.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands.
2. Remove the Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts slightly while the wheel is still on the ground.
  • Lift the vehicle and remove the lug nuts completely.
  • Take off the rear wheel to access the suspension components.
3. Inspect and Replace Components
  • Shock Absorbers:

    • Check for oil leaks or physical damage.
    • If defective, remove the upper and lower mounting bolts and replace with new shock absorbers, tightening to manufacturer specifications (usually around 40 Nm for upper and 80 Nm for lower).
  • Sway Bar Links:

    • Inspect for play or wear.
    • Remove the sway bar link bolts using a socket set and replace with new links, ensuring they are torqued to approximately 30 Nm.
  • Control Arm Bushings:

    • Check for cracks or deterioration.
    • If necessary, use a pry bar to remove the control arm and replace bushings. Reinstall and torque to about 100 Nm.
4. Reassemble
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle to the ground and torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually 120 Nm).
5. Final Inspection
  • Check all replaced components for proper installation.
  • Ensure there are no loose parts or tools left in the wheel well area.
