Solution
1. Software Update
  1. Visit the BMW website or contact your dealer to obtain the latest software version for your infotainment system.
  2. Follow the instructions provided to download the update onto a USB flash drive.
  3. Insert the USB drive into the vehicle’s USB port and follow on-screen prompts to initiate the update.
  4. Wait for the update to complete and do not turn off the vehicle during this process.
2. Battery Reset
  1. Open the hood and locate the vehicle battery.
  2. Using a socket wrench, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  3. Wait for at least 10 minutes to ensure all systems are fully reset.
  4. Reconnect the negative terminal securely and close the hood.
3. Inspect Wiring and Connectors
  1. Remove the trim panel surrounding the infotainment unit using a trim removal tool.
  2. Unscrew and carefully pull out the infotainment unit to access the wiring harness.
  3. Check all connections for looseness, corrosion, or damage.
  4. Re-seat any loose connectors and replace any damaged wiring as necessary.
4. Check Electrical System
  1. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the vehicle battery; it should be around 12.6 volts when fully charged.
  2. If the voltage is low, charge the battery or replace it if necessary.
  3. Inspect the alternator output to ensure it is functioning properly, typically between 13.7 to 14.7 volts when the engine is running.
