Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Check and Add Engine Oil
  • Tools Required: Oil dipstick, funnel, engine oil (recommended type).
  • Remove the dipstick, wipe clean, and reinsert to check the oil level.
  • If low, add the appropriate type and amount of engine oil.
  • Recheck the oil level and ensure it is within the proper range.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set, oil catch pan.
  • Locate the oil filter, place the oil catch pan underneath.
  • Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old filter.
  • Apply a thin layer of oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter and install it.
  • Tighten the filter by hand until snug (do not overtighten).
4. Inspect and Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit
  • Tools Required: Socket set, multimeter.
  • Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sending unit.
  • Use a socket to remove the sending unit and inspect for damage.
  • Install the new oil pressure sending unit and reconnect the electrical connector.
5. Test Oil Pump Functionality
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, oil pressure gauge.
  • Remove the oil pressure sending unit to access the oil pump.
  • Install an oil pressure gauge in place of the sending unit.
  • Start the engine and monitor the oil pressure reading; it should be within the manufacturer's specified range.
  • If pressure is low, the oil pump may need to be replaced.
