Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety during work.

Tools Required:

  • OBD-II scanner
  • Socket set
  • Screwdriver set
  • Multimeter
  • Cleaning supplies (throttle body cleaner, cloth)
2. Remove the Throttle Body
  1. Locate the throttle body, usually situated between the air intake manifold and the air filter.
  2. Remove any air intake ducts connected to the throttle body using the appropriate socket.
  3. Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the throttle body by gently pulling them away.
  4. Unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold using the socket set (note the torque specifications for reinstallation).
  5. Carefully remove the throttle body from the engine bay.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  1. Use throttle body cleaner and a cloth to clean the throttle plate and the inside of the throttle body thoroughly.
  2. Pay special attention to the area where the throttle plate seats to ensure no debris remains.
  3. Allow it to dry completely before reinstallation.
4. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  1. Position the cleaned throttle body back onto the intake manifold.
  2. Secure it with bolts and torque them to the manufacturer's specifications.
  3. Reconnect the electrical connectors and ensure all clamps and hoses are securely fastened.
  4. Reattach any air intake ducts removed earlier.
5. Reset and Test
  1. Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  2. Use the OBD-II scanner to clear any stored error codes.
  3. Start the engine and allow it to idle. Check for proper throttle response and ensure the engine behaves normally.
