Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow engine to cool down if previously running.
2. Clean Throttle Body
  1. Remove the intake duct connected to the throttle body using a socket set.
  2. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  3. Reinstall the intake duct and ensure all clamps are tightened.
3. Replace Spark Plugs
  1. Remove the ignition coils by unscrewing the retaining bolts.
  2. Carefully pull the coils out to access the spark plugs.
  3. Use a spark plug socket to remove old spark plugs.
  4. Gap new spark plugs according to specifications and install them.
  5. Reinstall ignition coils securely.
4. Inspect and Replace Fuel Filter
  1. Locate the fuel filter, which may be in-line or integrated into the fuel pump module.
  2. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  3. Disconnect fuel lines from the filter using a line removal tool.
  4. Install the new filter, ensuring correct orientation, and reconnect fuel lines.
5. Check and Clean IAC Valve
  1. Locate the IAC valve on the throttle body.
  2. Remove the connector and screws securing the IAC valve.
  3. Clean the valve with throttle body cleaner and a soft brush.
  4. Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery terminal and ensure it is secure.
