Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather Tools and Parts: Ensure you have all necessary tools and cleaning supplies.
  • Disconnect Battery: Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove the Air Intake Duct
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, socket set.
  • Remove the screws or clamps securing the air intake duct to the throttle body.
  • Carefully detach the duct from the throttle body and set it aside.
3. Remove the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body.
  • Remove the bolts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold using the socket set.
  • Gently pull the throttle body away from the manifold. Be cautious of any gaskets that may need replacing.
4. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth or brush.
  • Spray the throttle body cleaner onto a clean cloth or directly onto the throttle body surfaces.
  • Use a soft cloth or brush to scrub the interior and exterior surfaces, focusing on areas with carbon buildup.
  • Ensure the butterfly valve is clean and operates smoothly without any obstruction.
5. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench.
  • Position the throttle body back onto the intake manifold.
  • Tighten the bolts to the manufacturer-specified torque (typically around 10-15 Nm, but verify with service manual).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector.
6. Reattach the Air Intake Duct
  • Secure the air intake duct back onto the throttle body and tighten the screws or clamps.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
