Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and allow the engine to cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Identify Leak Source
  • Tools Required: Engine oil dye and UV light (optionally).
  • If necessary, add oil dye to the engine oil and run the engine. Use a UV light to identify the source of the leak more easily.
3. Replace Damaged Seals/Gaskets
  • Valve Cover Gasket Replacement:

    1. Remove engine cover (if applicable).
    2. Unscrew and remove the valve cover bolts.
    3. Carefully lift the valve cover, removing the old gasket.
    4. Clean the mating surfaces.
    5. Install a new gasket and reassemble the valve cover, torquing bolts to manufacturer specifications (typically around 10-12 Nm).
  • Oil Filter Replacement:

    1. Place an oil catch pan under the oil filter.
    2. Unscrew the old oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
    3. Apply a light film of oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
    4. Install the new oil filter and tighten it by hand (do not overtighten).
  • Oil Pan Gasket Replacement:

    1. Drain the engine oil into a catch pan.
    2. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan and carefully detach it from the engine.
    3. Remove the old gasket and clean the mating surfaces.
    4. Install a new gasket and reattach the oil pan, torquing bolts to manufacturer specifications (typically around 10-15 Nm).
    5. Refill the engine with the appropriate oil grade.
