Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cooled down.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Check and Top Off Engine Oil
  • Remove the engine oil fill cap.
  • Use a funnel to add the appropriate type and amount of engine oil if the level is low (consult owner’s manual for specifications).
  • Reinstall the oil fill cap securely.
3. Replace Oil Filter (if necessary)
  • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
  • Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new oil filter with a bit of new oil.
  • Install the new oil filter, tightening it to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually hand-tight plus a quarter turn).
4. Change Engine Oil (if necessary)
  • Place a drain pan under the oil pan and remove the drain plug using a socket set.
  • Allow the old oil to fully drain out.
  • Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.
  • Refill the engine with new oil through the oil fill cap using the appropriate oil type.
5. Reconnect Battery and Start Engine
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, checking for leaks.
  • Monitor the oil pressure warning light; it should turn off if the issue is resolved.
