Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check and Replace Gaskets and Seals
  • Inspect Valve Cover Gasket:

    • Remove engine covers as needed.
    • Use a socket set to unscrew the valve cover and inspect the gasket for wear or damage.
    • If damaged, clean the mating surfaces and replace the gasket.
  • Inspect Oil Pan Gasket:

    • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure with jack stands.
    • Remove the oil pan bolts with a socket set and carefully detach the oil pan.
    • Replace the oil pan gasket if it shows signs of wear.
3. Inspect and Replace PCV System
  • Remove PCV Valve:

    • Locate the PCV valve (usually on the valve cover).
    • Disconnect the hose and pull out the PCV valve.
  • Replace PCV Valve:

    • Inspect for any blockages in the hose.
    • Install a new PCV valve and reconnect the hose securely.
4. Engine Oil Change
  • Drain Old Oil:

    • Place an oil drain pan under the oil pan.
    • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket set and allow the old oil to fully drain.
  • Replace Oil Filter:

    • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
    • Lubricate the rubber gasket on the new oil filter with fresh oil and install it.
  • Add New Engine Oil:

    • Replace the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
    • Add the appropriate type and amount of new engine oil through the oil filler cap.
