Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove Engine Cover: Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Disconnect Ignition Coils: Unplug the wiring harness from each ignition coil.
  • Remove Ignition Coils: Unbolt the ignition coils using a socket wrench and gently pull them out.
  • Replace Spark Plugs:
    • Use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plugs.
    • Apply anti-seize compound on the threads of the new spark plugs.
    • Torque the new spark plugs to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 20 Nm).
  • Reinstall Ignition Coils: Place the coils back, ensuring they are seated properly, and reconnect the wiring harness.
3. Check and Replace Fuel Filter (if applicable)
  • Locate the Fuel Filter: Depending on the model, it may be integrated with the fuel pump in the tank.
  • Relieve Fuel System Pressure: Locate the fuel pump fuse and remove it, then start the engine until it stalls to relieve pressure.
  • Disconnect Fuel Lines: Use appropriate tools to disconnect fuel lines from the filter.
  • Replace Fuel Filter: Install the new filter and reconnect the fuel lines securely.
  • Reinstall Fuse: Put the fuel pump fuse back and turn the ignition on to prime the fuel system.
4. Inspect Air Intake System
  • Remove Air Filter Housing: Unscrew or unclip the housing and remove the air filter.
  • Check for Blockages: Inspect the intake hose for cracks or obstructions.
  • Clean Air Filter: If reusable, clean or replace the air filter as necessary.
