Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
2. Inspect and Replace Wheel Speed Sensors
  • Left/Right Front Sensor Access:

    • Remove the wheel for access to the wheel speed sensor.
    • Unplug the electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor.
  • Remove Sensor:

    • Unscrew the retaining bolt of the wheel speed sensor using a socket set.
    • Gently pull the sensor out of the hub assembly.
  • Install New Sensor:

    • Clean the mounting hole of any debris.
    • Insert the new wheel speed sensor into the hub assembly.
    • Tighten the retaining bolt to manufacturer specifications (typically around 10-12 Nm).
  • Reconnect Electrical Connector:

    • Plug the electrical connector back in ensuring a secure fit.
3. Reconnect Battery and Reassemble
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Reinstall the wheel and lower the vehicle.
  • Torque the wheel lug nuts to manufacturer specifications (typically around 120 Nm).
4. Clear Codes and Test
  • Use an OBD-II scanner to clear the C0030 code from the system.
  • Conduct a test drive to ensure that the ABS and traction control lights do not reappear.
