Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Flathead screwdriver, CR2032 battery (if needed), OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the flathead screwdriver to carefully open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery and dispose of it properly.
  3. Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key fob into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  3. Press and hold the unlock button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition off and remove the key fob.
  5. Test the remote functionality by pressing the unlock button.
4. Inspect Keyless Entry System
  1. If the key fob still does not work, connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
  2. Retrieve and analyze any error codes related to the keyless entry system.
  3. Depending on the errors, follow the manufacturer’s service manual for further troubleshooting or repairs.
