Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and set the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery (negative terminal) for safety.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on which struts are being replaced.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure stability.
3. Remove the Struts
  • Front Struts:

    • Remove the wheel using a socket set.
    • Remove the brake line bracket from the strut.
    • Disconnect the sway bar link from the strut.
    • Remove the upper strut mount bolts from the engine bay.
    • Unscrew the lower strut bolts and carefully remove the strut from the vehicle.
  • Rear Struts:

    • Remove the wheel using a socket set.
    • Disconnect the brake line and any other sensors attached to the strut.
    • Remove the upper strut mount bolts located in the trunk.
    • Unscrew the lower strut bolts and carefully take out the strut from the vehicle.
4. Install New Struts
  • Position the new strut in place and secure it using the lower bolts.
  • Reattach the upper strut mount bolts in the engine bay or trunk.
  • Reconnect the sway bar link and brake line.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
5. Reassemble and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  • Remove jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  • Reconnect the battery.
