Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the replacement.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting the procedure.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coils on top of the spark plugs.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing down on the tab and pulling them off.
  • Remove the bolts holding the ignition coils in place using a socket wrench.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to carefully remove each spark plug by turning it counterclockwise.
  • Inspect the removed plugs for wear or fouling, noting the condition.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended by the manufacturer).
  • Thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten them to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually around 22 ft-lbs, but verify with the service manual).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils and Engine Cover
  • Reinstall the ignition coils over the new spark plugs, securing them with bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil.
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the previously removed bolts.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
