Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Fluid Change
  • Tools Required: Transmission fluid pump, socket set, fluid catch pan, funnel, torque wrench.
  • Remove the transmission drain plug and allow the old fluid to drain completely.
  • Replace the transmission drain plug and torque to manufacturer specifications.
  • Use the fluid pump to fill the transmission with the recommended fluid type until it reaches the proper level.
3. Filter Replacement
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers, gasket scraper.
  • Remove the transmission pan by unscrewing all bolts and carefully prying it off.
  • Remove the old transmission filter and replace it with a new one.
  • Clean the transmission pan and install a new gasket before reattaching the pan.
4. TCM Inspection or Replacement
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set.
  • If the TCM is faulty, remove the mounting screws and disconnect the electrical connectors.
  • Replace with a new TCM and reattach all connectors and screws.
5. Torque Converter Check
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • If necessary, remove the transmission from the vehicle to access the torque converter.
  • Inspect and replace the torque converter if damaged or not functioning properly.
