Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Wear safety goggles and gloves for protection.
2. Identify and Repair the Leak

A. If the leak is from the brake fluid reservoir:

  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • Remove the reservoir cap and inspect for cracks.
  • If damaged, replace the brake fluid reservoir by unbolting it, disconnecting the electrical connector, and installing the new reservoir.
  • Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.

B. If the leak is from brake lines:

  • Tools Required: Brake line wrench, tubing cutter, flaring tool.
  • Identify the damaged section of the brake line.
  • Cut out the damaged section using a tubing cutter.
  • Use the flaring tool to create a new flare on the ends of the remaining brake lines.
  • Install a new brake line section using appropriate fittings and torque to specifications.

C. If the leak is from the brake caliper:

  • Tools Required: Brake caliper tool, socket set.
  • Remove the wheel and inspect the caliper for leaks.
  • If leaking, unbolt the caliper from the bracket and replace the caliper with a new one.
  • Reattach the caliper and tighten bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.

D. If the leak is from the master cylinder:

  • Tools Required: Socket set, brake fluid.
  • Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder.
  • Unbolt and remove the master cylinder.
  • Replace with a new master cylinder and reattach the brake lines.
  • Torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications and refill the brake fluid reservoir.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit.
  • Starting from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, open the bleeder valve and pump the brake pedal to remove any air.
  • Repeat for each wheel until no air bubbles are present in the fluid.
